This website is designed to encourage musicians to create music that promotes positive values and helps them promote these values among other musicians and society.
Music influences the society in which it is heard. A musician has a social responsibility for his or her actions, attitudes and lifestyles, and for making the world a better place.
We want to promote the concept of “positive music”. We believe that music should do more than help us feel better, that it should stir us up and move us forward with an optimistic spirit to affect the quality of life around us. We hope to encourage writers whose lyrics hold up moral values, bring out the best in people, challenge people to aim higher in their lives, and inspire us to examine our lives and make changes.
The world needs the changes positive music can promote. Whether it is discouraging social evils such as violence, drug and alcohol abuse, or making people more determined to reach out in productive ways to the people around them, we believe our music can and must make a difference. We believe that the talent we have been given empowers us to help with these changes and carries with it responsibility. Special talent equals special responsibility.
That’s why we will look to develop a community of artists that creates and promotes music with certain characteristics:
